Slipknot have released the video for The Devin In I, which reveals the new masks.  As was revealed yesterday, the new bass player and drummer will wear the same masks, which I find very anti-climactic.  It shows either a lack of creativity, or that the new members will be treated the same as Jason Newstead when he joined Metallica.  Neither option is acceptable, and shows that no matter the contributions to the music will matter to the rest of the band.  Then again, when Slipknot chooses to tour with Mushroomhead it speaks volume about the space in which they now reside.

This is too good not to post.  YouTube user carace777 has uploaded the video for Sleep’s Dragonaut, which is sped up 150%.  Not only does it still sound cool, but as Metalsucks pointed out, sounds just like a Clutch jam.  Check it out for yourself.

Steve’n’Seagulls do it again with their bluegrass take on AC/DC’s Thunderstruck.  You’ve never truly heard the song until you hear it’s signature riff played on a banjo and being accompanied by a percussionist who utilizes spoons.  Rock on Steve’n’Seagulls, rock on!

Many of you may remember Steve ‘n’ Seagulls from last week’s post of their cover of Iron Maiden’s The Trooper.  The band is at it again and this time have released a video for a cover of Dio’s Holy Diver.  Once again this shows how strong the songwriting in metal is.  And how imaginative Steve ‘n’ Seagulls are.  Pure brilliance.
