This fall is going to be a monster for metal tours, and it just got a little bit better.  The upcoming Dying Fetus, Goatwhore, Malevolence, and Fallujah tour has added additional dates to make metal fans a bit happier.  The bad news is that Goatwhore bassist, James Harvey, will be sitting out the trek due to the birth of his first child.  TA from San Antonio band Hod will be filling in.  Tour dates below.

On Misery Index’s last touring cycle I knew going into the show that I was buying a shirt. These days that’s a rarity, but I love this band and was excited to support them. I was on the guest list so I felt obligated to help fund them in some way. Then I got to the show at Satyricon (side note, this is the club where Kurt Cobain met Courtney Love, and it wasn’t out of character to find a junkie passed out in the bath tub that was the urinal/man trough). I walked up to the merch booth with money in hand and that’s when it hit me. At some unbeknownst time, Misery Index turned into a douchey bro band – those of the dayglo logos that cover the entire front of the shirt. The band didn’t disappoint live, but I left empty handed. It was with that in mind that I hesitantly approached The Killing Gods.

No Clean Singing broke the news today of the routing and dates for this year’s Summer Slaughter tour.  Fewer dates this year as they skip the Northwest, which isn’t really surprising since the Portland venue has changed each of the last few years ending up at a 500 seat theater.

Dates after the break.

The Summer Slaughter tour has announced this year’s lineup, and it sounds pretty solid:

  • Morbid Angel
  • Dying Fetus
  • The Faceless
  • Thy Art Is Murder
  • Goatwhore
  • Origin
  • Decrepit Birth
  • Within the Ruins
  • Fallujah

Only NY and LA dates have been announced, 7/19 and 8/8, respectively.  I can’t wait for the Portland announcement of Roseland only to have poor ticket sales have the event moved the Hawthorne Theater, which is ill-equipped for this type of show.  Have you ever tried to buy merch in the middle of the pit?  Not fun.
