Question:  Is there a specific reason that there were none, or a very minimum number of black metal bands signed to Earache records? I notice the only black metal band Earache obtained in sometime is Annal Nathrakh but that’s about all I can see from the catalog of bands.  Is it based on preference (maybe Earache isn’t too fond of the black metal genre) or is it based on just the idea that Earache is solely for death metal and grindcore?

Godflesh are streaming a new track, New Dark Ages, on their Soundcloud page.  At the same time the stream went live, the band announced their new full-length album, A World Lit Only By Fire.  This will be the band’s first full album in 13 years, and follows last years Decline and Fall EP.  The album will be released on Justin K. Broaderick’s Avalanche Recordings label on October 8th.  Click through to see the track listing.

Question:  Alex Newport said and due to the controversial nature of the quote i will write it in full ” We were never really part of that grindcore scene, I remember Napalm Death asking earache to drop us, saying that if the didn’t they’d leave, they were offended because we weren’t a “true metal” band, We’re like yeah we aren’t a metal band at all you brummie dip shits!” I’m curious is this true?
