Obituary has released the title track from their upcoming record.  It’s everything you could want from an Obituary album.  Distorted riffs, slamming drums, and vocals that, get this, are understandable!  Win, win, win!  Stream the track now on Relapse’s Soundcloud page.  Inked in Blood the album comes out October 28th through Relapse Records.

Machine Head have leaked two new tracks on the band’s YouTube channel.  The tracks, Now We Die and Killers and Queens (Demo), are available to listen to now.  Killers and Queens was released for the band’s Record Store Day release in four different versions, but here we get the official demo for the track.  Machine Head recently postponed their Headlining trek with Children of Bodom in order to complete the recording process for their upcoming release, Bloodstone & Diamonds, which now doesn’t appear it will see release this year.

More info as it’s made available.

Unearth are back and streaming the first track from their new album Watchers of Rule.  The Swarm is about what I’d expect from Unearth.  Gravelly voiced shouting, twin guitar work, and solid drumming.  The album will be released October 28th on eOne Music.  Preorder the album and bundles here.

Obituary are streaming their new video, Visions in My Head, on the Relapse Records YouTube page.  The track comes off the band’s new album, Inked in Blood, which comes out October 28th in North America.  I was taken a bit off-guard by the vocals as they are no where near as guttural as I was expecting.  Still some exciting stuff though.  Gotta love those riffs!  Video below.

I don’t know why Deafheaven get such a bad rap on the internet.  They achieved a bit of success, good for them.  Many people have chosen to attack the way the band looks as “not tr00” enough to be called black metal.  Other complain about the amount of visibility the band has received – the album art being used in the launch of the iPhone 5c, once again, good for them.  Still more people are complaining that now only hipsters are listening to the band, which makes them unlistenable now.  Who cares?  A band from outside the mainstream made a minor dent in pop culture.  Awesome!  If the only way to get the band to play my town was to see them only with hipsters, hell yeah I’d still be there.  The band has worked hard and gotten some exposure from it.  Congratulations Deafheaven.

Now that that’s out of the way, there’s a new Deafheaven song, From the Kettle onto the Coil, streaming now.  Enjoy!
