Brain Trusts Top 10 of 2014: In No Particular Order Part IV

Back again for two more titles in the best of 2014.  Here you go:

Belphegor – Conjuring the Dead: Austria’s leading purveyors of blasphemous song styling have returned with a new opus that rivals the band’s best effort, Bondage Goat Zombie. Unfortunately, the band hasn’t toured yet so I’m not sure how these tracks hold up live, but if past performances prove anything, it’s that this band rarely has an off night.

Grand Magnus – Triumph Power: Grand Magus are the Conan the Barbarian of heavy metal. A power trio with riffs for days, powerful, throaty vocals about viking raids and wars. The vocals carry a coarse melody that fits the music perfectly. The band would fit perfectly – and probably found more success – if they were around in the 70s. In fact, had they not been born to late, Grand Magus could easily hold their own against Ted Nugent, Nazareth, or Motorhead. Powerful indeed!
